Terms of Service

Effective October 1, 2026

These terms govern your use of Silica Mail ("Silica"), an invite-only email application available at silica.app and through its clients. By using Silica, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

Accounts and authorized access

Use Silica only with an invitation and mailboxes you own or are authorized to access. Keep your account password, sessions, and connector credentials secure, and notify your Silica operator if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.

Email features and your instructions

Connecting a mailbox authorizes Silica to provide the email features described in the app and Privacy Policy. These include reading and organizing messages, applying labels and rules, changing read status, archiving or moving mail to trash, and managing drafts and sends. Configured rules and category settings may cause automatic background actions.

You remain responsible for messages you send, recipients you choose, mailbox settings you configure, and reviewing important email. Automated classification can be incorrect. Verify critical messages, deadlines, payments, and delivery results directly; Silica's classifications and notifications are not professional advice or a guarantee that every important message will be identified.

Acceptable use

Do not use Silica for unlawful activity, spam, fraud, harassment, or infringement of another person's rights. Do not attempt to access another user's information, bypass access controls, interfere with the service, or disclose credentials that grant unauthorized access. Follow the applicable terms of your email provider and other connected services.

Your content and privacy

You retain your rights in your email and other content. You grant Silica permission to access, process, store, and transmit that content only as needed to provide the service you request, including automated email classification and processing by the providers disclosed in the Privacy Policy. These terms do not transfer ownership of your content to Silica.

Early access and availability

Silica is an early-access service. Features may change, and service can be interrupted or discontinued. Gmail, Proton, OpenRouter, AWS, notification providers, and local connectors can affect availability, synchronization, classification, and delivery. Keep access to your original mailbox and any backups you need; Silica is not a backup service.

Ending access

You can stop using Silica, revoke Google authorization, and ask your operator to disconnect your mailbox or close your account. Previously stored data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms, security concerns, or discontinuation of the service.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Silica is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or guaranteed message delivery. To that same extent, Silica's operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, including losses resulting from missed notifications, incorrect classification, or interrupted access. These terms do not exclude rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will post the revised version with its effective date. Material changes will be communicated to active users before they take effect. For support or questions about these terms, contact the operator who invited you to Silica.
